28th Anniversary Winterfest in Sevierville

Sevierville (TN) – During the winter months, Sevierville and the Great Smoky Mountains area sparkle with millions of twinkling lights during Smoky Mountain Winterfest (Nov. 6 – Feb. 28). Smoky Mountain Winterfest has become a holiday tradition for many visitors who return year after year as well as locals – and all enjoy the lights, shopping, shows and attractions.
Sevierville’s Winterfest Celebration kicks off November 6 with Music, Lights and Magic, a completely free event at the Sevierville Municipal Complex. Event-goers enjoy live performances, kids’ games, food, photos with Santa and more during the event which takes place between 3pm and 8pm.
Once Winterfest has started, viewing the lights with friends and family is a great way to get in the holiday spirit. Purchase a 2017-18 Winterfest souvenir t-shirt to commemorate your visit when you stop at the Sevierville Visitor Center on Hwy 66 (1.5 miles from I-40 Exit 407). You’ll also receive a free pair of Winterfest in 3D glasses, which shift points of light into snowflakes, with your t-shirt purchase while supplies last.
Special Winterfest attractions, like Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at Smokies Stadium, add to the excitement (November 3 – January 7). This 1.5 mile drive through LED light experience (one of the largest in the world) features extras for the kids, including photos with Santa (beginning after Thanksgiving) and delicious holiday foods. http://www.shadrackchristmas.com/
There’s nothing quite like celebrating the holidays with an old-fashioned parade, and downtown Sevierville’s is a longstanding holiday tradition.  Celebrating its 55th year, the parade showcases pageant queens, community organizations and area businesses. The 2016 Sevierville Citizen of the Year, Albert Atchley, will serve as the parade’s grand marshal. The parade steps off at 11am on December 2, but parade-goers can arrive a little early or stay after and peruse the art and craft booths at the Holiday Market held at the Bruce Street Gazebo. It will be open from 10am until 4pm on December 2 and feature a variety of vendors and locally made items that make perfect holiday gifts.
